Gary Messick

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of great friend and past Personal Best member, Gary Messick. Gary died January, 19th at age 53 of a heart attack. He leaves behind his sweet wife Pam who also runs with Personal Best, a daughter, son and two beloved grand sons.

I will always remember Gary and his quiet, soft demeanor. In training for my first half marathon, Gary stayed with me for my first eleven miler. We found ourselves lost around the KU Med campus and eventually made it back to Westport to learn that the eleven miles became thirteen!

Gary will be missed by us all, but never forgotten.
